Here we have a wonderful rare Arts and Crafts Oak bureau bookcase c1900. As you can see the bureau has stunning colour and patina. Firstly the makers have bothered to quarter saw all of the timbers maximising the lovely medullary rays within the Oak. There is a bookshelf top with side glazed cabinet and leaded glass. The cabinet retains the orginal working lock and key. There is a fielded panel fall front which opens to reveal a pigeon hole interior and original baize lined work surface. Original working lock and key in place. The interior timber is also quarter sawn. There are four drawers with solid Mahogany linings and hand cut dovetail joints. The drawers have wonderful shield shaped copper back plates to brass ring pulls. There is a shaped frieze below and Voysey style legs to block feet. A superb period Arts and crafts bureau bookcase in excellent reatil condition ready for your home. The dimensions are approx 92 cm wide 130 cm high 38 cm deep.
