Here we have an outstanding and very rare high backed Queen Anne style armchair c1840. As you can see the chair has super colour and patina. When my upholsterer pulled this chair back we were able to date it to the early Victorian period. We were able to use all the original horse hair and then use a fantastic Italian hide. The chair is rare due to its unusual height. This was clearly a comissioned piece as typically these chairs are never this high. The chair is extremely elegant and very comfortable. There are wings to the top and scrolled shaped arms with studded detail. There are beautifully crafted cabriole legs to the front and outswept squared legs to the rear. A stunning chair in great retail condition ready for your home. The dimensions are approx 131 cm high 84 cm wide 68 cm deep.
