Description

A superb quality regency Georgian Sheraton Hepplewhite design marquetry inlaid mahogany looking glass cheval mirror. This adjustable dressing room tall mirror has a weighted mechanism which allows the mirror to be raised, lowered and tilted- this is a rare and desirable feature which occurs only on the top 2% of cheval mirrors . The top is surmounted by a swan neck pediment flanked by urn finials. The whole is raised on shaped sabre legs. The whole is profusely inlaid with trailing wheathusks and full and quarter boxwood fans. The mirror plate is the original as are the brass swivel castors.
