Offered for sale is this superb set of eight Chippendale style mahogany dining chairs consisting of six single and two carver chairs and dating from about 1900 - 1920. The high backed chairs have a shaped and carved back rail with a pierced and carved centre splat above newly reupholstered drop-in seats on cabriole supports with acanthus carved shoulders and ball and claw feet.The chairs are well proportioned and are a rich brown conker colour, they are in excellent showroom condition with all joints firm and have been cleaned, revived and hand waxed with newly reupholstered seats covered in a neutral cream and gold fabric.
