Offered for sale is this superb quality set of ten Georgian style laddeback dining chairs dating to about 1900 and consisting of eight single and two carver chairs. The chairs are a lovely rich conker brown mahogany colour. The set of ten mahogany Georgian style chairs have pierced and carved ladderbacks above drop-in seats newly reupholstered in a neutral cream and gold and stand on square supports united by H stretcher. The chairs are of excellent quality and are stamped Sopwith 3221 single chairs and 3222 the carvers. Sopwith were manufacturers of high quality furniture in the secomd half of the 19th century and first decade of the twentieth century. They were based in Newcastle and these chairs came from the North East. The set of 10 antique mahogany chairs are in excellent showroom condition having been cleaned, revived, waxed and reupholstered. .
