Offered for sale is this superb Victorian oak telescopic dining table extending from 60" x 49.5" to 95" x 49.5" with two leaves, a comfortable 10 seater. The rectangular shaped top has a double moulded edge with rounded corners above large turned and fluted supports with original castors. The extending mechanism is the standard Joseph Fitter patented system and works very smoothly and comes complete with winding handle. The table dates from about 1870 and has a makers stamp on the underside "Samuel Williams, house, steamship and office furnisher, 86 - 88 Argyle Street, Birkenhead The table has been cleaned and sympathetically repolished whilst retaining its original character. It is of above average quality in excellent showroom condition and is a warm golden oak colur with superb graining from quarter sawn oak.
