Offered for sale is this superb and unusual set of six late Victorian oak dining chairs consisting of six single chairs. The high backed chairs have lions mask carved finials at the top of the uprights above an upholstered back panel and overstuffed seats on four ring turned supports with shaped stretchers. The well proportioned chairs are 39.5" high and 16.7" wide, ideally suited to an old cottage The chairs are in excellent showroom condition with all joints firm and have been cleaned, revived and hand waxed with newly reupholstered seats and backs covered in a neutral gold fabric. This is the only set I have ever seen with carved lions head finials - a rare set !
