Offered for sale is this superb quality set of twelve mahogany dining chairs by Maple & Co. This set dates to the early part of the 20th century and is a harlequin set although it would be very difficult to spot the difference, particularly when they are around a table. It is in fact a set of eight, including two carvers and a set of four. They all have bar backs line inlaid with boxwood and ebony and satinwood crossbanding above reeded uprights and turned spindles, overstuffed seats, square tapered supports and spade feet. The eight all have a Maple& Co label on the underside. The only difference is that the four have a back rail 7mm narrower than the rest making them slighly shorter. The construction of the chairs means that they all come from the same factory . the left hand chair in the photo is one of the four, the other two part of the eight. All chairs have been cleaned, revived and waxed and are offered in showroom condition. We accept all major credit cards with delivery by arrangement.
