Superb set of six Irish Chippendale style mahogany dining chairs, having carved and shaped back rail with pierced ribbon centre splat above drop-in seats upholstered in hand done needlepoint tapestry above cabriole supports with carved shoulders and ball and claw feet. Millers 1984 price guide, p258 describes these chairs as Irish whereas the 1987 guide p357 describes them as George III style with backs not dissimilar to illustration No. 122 page 148 of dwards dictionary of English Furniture.
