Superb quality Cotswold School Arts & Crafts oak bookcase attributed to Stanley Webb Davies. Beautifully crafted, with typical pegged through tenons and exposed rounded dovetail joints, which are both a feature of his work, plus the quality of craftsmanship. The sliding doors have no handles, and no need, as they glide effortlessly on ball bearings in the metal running track. The back boards, as you would expect, are well panelled and the bookcase sits on a small plinth base. In excellent condition. 107cmW x 66cmH x 40cmD

Our stock items are carefully selected by myself and I only buy good quality items which may need small repairs, a clean and a polish. I don't buy any items that need major restoration, but any loose joints are re-glued. Occasionally, some items may have small amounts of historic extinct woodworm, never enough to affect the integrity of the item, and is always treated as a matter of course. We try to describe and show our items the best we can, and we use studio lighting which sometimes lightens the colour slightly on some of the furniture. All lamps are rewired and PAT tested. Every item we sell we would have in our home (some of them have been!!) It is impossible to describe every item fully, so please feel free to email or call for more information or any queries you may have. The items will have no major defects but will show signs of normal age related wear and use. I would prefer the items to show its life rather than strip it and re-polish it, as it's only original once!
