Description

A mid century rock 'n' rest armchair and stool c1960's, designed by Rastad & Relling for Gimson & Slater. Equipped with a cleverly designed mechanism, the Rock 'n Rest Armchair allows you to seamlessly transition from an upright position to a reclined, with a lever on the side of the chair to lock into your desired position.
Both the chair and stool are in good condition, no loose joints, and the stool is sprung. The chair has been re-glued, and there is an old repair to the front legs. The wood has been finished with danish oil.

Please note that the first image of both chair and stool was photographed on a cloudy day and isn't a true representation of the fabric colour. All the other images were photographed on a sunny day and has captured the true colour.
Newly and professionally upholstered including new webbing and filling, and covered in a teal coloured textured fabric.

Our stock items are carefully selected by myself and I only buy good quality items which may need small repairs, a clean and a polish. I don't buy any items that need major restoration, but any loose joints are re-glued. Occasionally, some items may have small amounts of historic extinct woodworm, never enough to affect the integrity of the item, and is always treated as a matter of course. We try to describe and show our items the best we can, and we use studio lighting which sometimes lightens the colour slightly on some of the furniture. All lamps are rewired and PAT tested. Every item we sell we would have in our home (some of them have been!!) It is impossible to describe every item fully, so please feel free to email or call for more information or any queries you may have. The items will have no major defects but will show signs of normal age related wear and use. I would prefer the items to show its life rather than strip it and re-polish it, as it's only original once!
