Description

Superb quality Thomas Chippendale style carved mahogany single library chair of large proportions. Made in the last quarter of the 19th century by a very fine cabinet maker from the best of woods available at the time. Profusely carved all over. Carved cabriole legs all round. Wonderful design pierced back splat. Drop in seat has been nicely upholstered in decent fabric. Basically you couldn't wish for a better example from this period. The chair has the initials R. M. H. stamped on one of the rails who was obviously the cabinet maker who made it.
