Description

Wonderful pair of large and heavy French silver sauce tureens of great design. The pieces are in two parts so the tureen and the tray can be seperated for cleaning. The design is very pleasing indeed with reeded decoration to the edges of both parts and very nice cast vine leaf design handles. These have been made by one of France's (Paris) best silver and jewelery makers of the period FREDERIC BOUCHERON and GEORGE RADIUS. They operated several boutiques in Paris in the late 19th to early 20th century period and were famed for their high quality items.

All parts are hallmarked correctly with both the French silver standard mark and the makers mark, in other words both are stamped 4 times.

They weigh an incredible 25oz each so 50oz in total.

One of the nicest silver pairs I have seen, they would grace any Christmas diner table.
