Description

Unusual late 19th century Colonial solid satinwood and teak small size cabinet. Nicely made cabinet of small proportions in mainly solid satinwood and teak, the show wood is all satinwood, the carcass, paneled back, shelves and drawer linings etc. are all teak. As such the cabinet is pretty heavy. The cabinet has its original small bracket feet and original brass handles to the drawers. I suspect it originates from the West Indies.

The cabinet consists of a pair of cupboard doors with a shelf inside with two drawers above. The top section with a pair of small cupboard doors with shelves between.

All the doors are quarter veneered in satinwood with a shell type oval inlay to the centre of each and ebony inlay.

The piece retains all its original locks with a working key.

The cabinet is in very good condition apart from slight damage to a couple of the ebony inlaid diamond escutions where the key has been going in and out.
