Description

18th century South Staffordshire enamel patch box. Features a handpainted decoration of a country maiden collecting bushels of wheat and a basket with cottages in the background. Blue enamel base and hinged lid with a glass insert which was originally a mirror but the backing has since deteriorated. Some slight damage to the glass insert/mirror.Hinge in working order. Measures 4cm x 3cm x 1.5cm. (d k.c36)
