Description

The clock has an 8-day movement striking hourly on a bell. The 12” arch dial has Roman numerals with a seconds ring and date aperture. The dial is painted in a very unusual but attractive, almost monochrome, style with chapels in the corners and a pastoral scene with a cottage and a bridge over the river in the arch. The case is veneered in curl mahogany with canted corners inlaid with ebony. The hood has a swan-neck pediment with brass paterae. To either side of the hood there are fluted columns with brass capitals.
