Description

This is a good quality Edwardian Oblong Desk Magnifying Glass. It has a brass frame with black painted metal mounts and a leather bound handle. It dates to the early years of the 20th century.

The oblong glass gives a good level of magnification and works particularly well on documents, as you would expect of a magnifying glass designed for use on a desk.

Overall condition is very good with just a couple of very small scratches on the lens, which don\'t impair the function of the magnifier at all. The brass has developed a nice patina over the course of time but could be cleaned to a bright shine if desired. The painted metal and the leather handle are all in good condition. Please make sure to view all the photographs.

The visible lens area is 9.5cm x 5.5cm. The frame is 12.5cm x 8.5cm. The overall length of the magnifying glass is 26cm. It weighs 439g.
