Description

This is a stylish Silver Plate Sauce Boat from the interwar period of the 1920s/30s. The sauce boat has an oval base, tall sides, a broad pouring lip, a scalloped top rim and a long flat topped handle. There are no initials or personalisation of any kind.

There is no makers' mark on the sauce boat so we can't say who manufactured it but it is stamped EPNS for silver plate and MADE IN ENGLAND which dates it to after 1921 (prior to that items were just stamped ENGLAND).

Condition is good, with no dings or dents and just a small amount of wear to the plate at the bottom of the boat where spoons have rubbed against it over the years. It remains perfectly usable today. Please make sure to view all the photographs.

The sauce boat is 16.2cm / 6.4ins from lip to handle, 7.7cm / 3ins across and 6.5cm / 2.5ins high. It weighs 108.7g / 3.8oz.
