Description

This is a distinctive early 20th century Silver Plate Three Piece Tea Set. The set consists of a teapot, cream jug and sugar bowl of round bulbous design. The bodies are panelled with engraved decoration around the upper part and a cross on each side. The teapot has a bakelite c-shape handle and stepped finial.

The tea set is British made and dates to around 1900 to 1930. There is no maker's mark, so we can't give a specific manufacturer, simply a stamp of E P B M for Electroplated Britannia Metal, which is silver plate on tin or pewter.

Condition is good with no dings or dents. The plate on the ribs of the cream jug and sugar bowl is a little rubbed and there is some plate loss to the interiors but they still look very striking. Please make sure to view all the photographs.

The teapot measures 27.5cm / 10.8ins from spout to handle, 13.5cm / 5.3ins across the body and stands 12cm / 4.7ins high. The cream jug is 11.8cm / 4.6ins from lip to handle, 7.9cm / 3.1ins across the body and stands 7.3cm / 2.9ins high. The sugar bowl is 13.2cm / 5.2ins from handle to handle, 9cm / 3.5ins across the body and stands 8.1cm / 3.2ins high. All together, the set weighs 900g / 31.7oz.
