Buchanan and Laing (Prima Finds)

Description

An original 1920 shop display for hats, designed as a fixed column of twisted brass with ceramic socle, the mushroom head is in original plush. The more decorative column is rarer than the plain tube form. The photographs have indicated its scale and use with the displayed top hat (not included in the sale). It stands 18 1/2 inches overall height and has a diameter at the base of 4 1/2 inches.

The condition is very good, it has been lightly cleaned but not restored to original, therefore the age patina is still evident. There are two nicks to the ceramic socle under the edge of the brass part where it meets the ceramic, these are not major issues, but the item can't meet the mint condition category.
