Description
Good quality mahogany reading / library chair by George Minter of Gerard Street Soho, the deep buttoned back with reclining mechanism and pull out padded foot rest, raised on turned legs, one stamped with Minter, Gerard Street Soho, Patent 855 and fitted with brass caps and castors stamped Copes Patent.George Minter of Soho was a cabinet maker and upholsterer specialising in patented reclining chairs from 1829 to 1854, many being very well documented.
This quality chair is structurally sound but would benefit from being reupholstered.
