Description

Magnificent large golden oak bookcase with flared , stepped cornice mounted by carved turned finials on the domed end sections. The inverted breakfront base has four glazed doors ( working locks and keys ) with applied moulded decorations opening to adjustable shelved interiors, four panelled cupboards below ( working locks and keys ) with wonderful blind fret details, raised on a plinth base.
With marks / scuffs and general wear and tear commensurate with age and use, an historic repair to the cornice and a very small hairline crack to a tiny pane of glass, neither of which are obvious nor detract from the piece itself which is in overall very good, sound condition and really is a wonderful example of skilled craftmanship, not done justice by the photographs.
