Antique Late 18th Century Clockwork Larke Lure having brass works contained in a shaped metal case, with a brass winding key on the removal back, and 2 hinged side doors to gain access to the works. above the winding key is a circular knob, which when turned stops and starts the removal revolving lure.
This is made up of a shaped piece of walnut, like a birds wing and inset with 22 small glass panels, that when revolving reflect the light and therefore attract larks, who have an insatiable curiosity and attraction to anything that glitters. It is in full working order and on full wind lasts for 15 minutes.
