This is a wonderful example of a GPO wooden wall telephone. I have had it stripped and varnished to show off the wonderful solid mahogany. There is a lot of work in restoring one of these early telephones to this standard and I pay for the wooden parts to be restored. As you can see it looks wonderful and has also been wired up to work on the modern system and still retaining the original parts both inside and out. The only exception is an electronic microphone and a quality plastic line in cord with a UK telephone plug socket fitting.
