Rare carved oak bookcase from Cambridge university


Description
Very rare carved oak bookcase dating to the latter part of the 19th century .This bookcase has the carved crest of Cambridge university on one side and the crest of Trinity college on the other , also a carved verse from the king James I bible reading
" hear the words of the wise and apply thine heart unto my knowledge ".
it is decorated with carved English roses and ST Andrews crosses. (obviously king James I ruled England & Scotland)
What makes this piece even more interesting is in 2015 the first ever English translations of the king James I bible from 1604 were found in Cambridge university.
The bookcase itself is solid oak and has book protectors or flaps on the front .
The overall measurements are
68" high x 64" wide x 14 1/2 " deep.
