Description

A rare cast iron console by the English foundry of Coalbrookdale

An original marble top with rounded projecting corners, and intricately cast iron pierced scrolling legs joined by a an ornate and delicate front stretcher. There is a previous repair to the front top corner, which is only visible with the marble top removed. The diamond registration stamp to the reverse.

This model is illustrated in the 1875 Coalbrookdale catalogue and was also available in a larger size. Circa: 1875
