A stunning quality arts & crafts mahogany 8 piece bedroom suite comprising of a triple wardrobe, large marble top washstand with leaded glass back, dressing table, single bedside cabinet, towel rail and 3 chairs, all inlaid with stylised lilies and having hand beaten copper handles to the drawers and doors. The wardrobe has 3 shelves, 2 slides and a drawer inside the double section and the single mirrored section has a rail and hooks, with two drawers to the base. The overall condition is good but there are scuffs, marks and chips consistant with age and use and the dressing table has wear and fading to the top with useage, the feet are all scuffed.

An attractive Art Deco period polished walnut bedroom suite. Probably made in the 1920's by Harry and Lou Epstein (H&L Epstein) - Britain's largest designers and makers of quality Art Deco furniture - the suite was crafted by hand, for a wealthy family of distinction, figured walnut or Canadian burr maple wood, interior solid wood, light maple. Six pieces, large double wardrobe, tallboy, triple mirrored dressing table, stool, chair and bedside cabinet. All in good condition. All original and colour matched, i.e. photos can be misleading and indicate some pieces lighter/darker than others, in reality all pieces are same light walnut, a honey coloured suite. All original bakelite knobs and handles intact and present, no broken hinges, no problems with ill fitting doors or stiff drawers etc, very good throughout. FAULTS TO REPORT, I think you can see from the photos that this suite is in lovely condition. But I like to report what I have discovered. Some small lifting of panelling in places less than 0.5mm, very minor but should be mentioned, not in need of attention in my opinion, one chip to veneer at base of wardrobe at back, this cannot be seen from front view. Tallboy has crack to veneer near handle, flush with surface and not in danger of worsening. Light scuffing to dressing table upper surface, trim loose on stool (minor reattachment required as all trim still present) bedside cabinet has seen the most wear, discoloration apparent on upper surfaces, see photo, again this has been minimised by the retention of quality glass protective surface. DRESSING TABLE, very good condition, light upper surface wear protected by thick glass. Mirrors all good, no black spotting or chips to mirrors, the two outer oval mirrors are on a ball bearing pivot beneath the glass and walnut surface and rotate 360 degrees for your convenience, pivot mechanism very good, no faults, a quality well-made piece. All handles intact, original and in place, all drawers have good runners etc and open and close perfectly, as do all drawers and doors in entire suite. A superior piece not often seen. WARDROBE - large size, excellent storage within, very good condition, all intact, immaculate interior, drawers, doors handles etc. One chip to base at rear as mentioned in faults report. Mirrored door, shelves and drawers fitted in interior as well as large clothes rail area. Key included. TALLBOY - a beautiful piece, lovely fine condition, immaculate interior, all drawers, handles etc intact and very good condition. Key included. Crack to veneer near handle, minor nicks to rear. STOOL - very good condition, clean surface, attractive heavy brocade covering matching stool (photo shows shadow from mirror on cloth covering which may be misleading) trim loose, as mentioned in fault report. BEDSIDE CABINET - good condition, drawers fit trimly, handles and hinges very good as with all pieces, some discoloration to surface from use as mentioned in fault report. CHAIR - attractive design, very good condition, clean surface, no faults. standard size. A fab deco pair of walnut bedsides in burr walnut. So typical of the era and in good condition bar the French polishing which is soon to be undertaken before these hit the showroom floor. They match the deco bed and should really stay together, hence the competitive price if the two go as one. Bedsides are £600 the pair and the bed is £1050 but together they can go for £1500 and that includes the bed base and all the French polshing. Note the great carving on both the bedsides and the bed.
