Description

A Victorian embossed fire mark in copper for the Guardian Insurance Company. Established in 1821 the Guardian Fire and Life traded as such until 1902 when it was renamed the Guardian Assurance Company.
Considering its age and the use to which it was put, although somewhat distressed, it is in good original condition with a good deal of its original finish remaining.
