Description

Mid 17th Century Carved Oak Bible Box Initialed GD.

The slope lid with iron hinges with fish tail ends, chip carved sides and front and rear double moulded edge.

The front carved with six quatrefoil circles with capital G D to the left hand side with ornate shield lockplate.

Good colour and patina with small repair to the side and also to the base with original ironwork.
