A wonderful unused mid-century Stratton compact which is presented in the original box with all the original accessories. This compact is a super addition to a collection and it is also suitable for all loose foundation powder. Green enamel embellished with gilt accents and horn like adornments frame panels containing birds of paradise. This lovely accessory is hard to find. The Stratton Muffin only has three known years of availability (different lid designs) 1948, 1952 and 1953. The catches and hinges work perfectly. The compact is signed STRATTON MADE IN ENGLAND. The mirror gives a good and accurate reflection. The base is also enamelled. There does not appear to be any loss of enamel or fading. Measures 9 cm. Weighs 132.4 grams.
