Wills Tobacco Advertising Poster Navy Cut, 1900s
Original Large Wills Tobacco Advertising Poster for Capstan Navy Cut in original wooden frame and glass, c 1900-1910.
Superb example of an early 20th century advertising poster for Wills’s “Capstan” cigarettes, depicting a navy captain smoking a pipe and inscribed: “Wills for Quality”, “My first mate” and “Wills’s “Capstan” Navy Cut”.
At the lower left corner there is a logo of the Imperial Tobacco Company and a reference number 5650.
The poster is glazed and framed in its original wooden/gesso frame painted black with gilt slip.
At the lower edge of the frame there is “Will’s for Quality” carved into the frame. It has been repainted and hardly visible now.
Great collector's item and a decorative poster in near perfect condition.
Collection from York preferred due to size and fragile glass but postage can be arranged. Please ask for postage costs.
