Circa 1880, William IV style mantel antique clock with the retailer ‘Herbert Blockley, 41 Duke Street, St James’s, London’ engraved to the dial. The ribbed top surmounted by a cast pineapple, over a silvered face encased in a bevelled edge and glass door and brass inlaid panels surrounding it. The sides with foliate cast, ring pull lifting handles, and fabric backed pierced brass sound boards, and the back with glass door (showing the coil striker with makers mark). With signed French movement, all on squat brass feet.

Herbert Blockley was the successor to Lund & Blockley, manufacturers and retailers of watches and antique clocks.
