Generously proportioned example of a mid 19th.c. vernacular Welsh oak armchair, North Wales c.1850. Pegged construction in solid oak throughout. Rear stiles joined with a straight top rail over an attractively shaped stretcher. Slightly curved arms with round terminals raised on chamfered supports. Over a wide board seat (22½” max) raised on square stiles joined with stretchers to all four sides for extra strength. Very condition, solid and sturdy. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
