A beautiful study in watercolour of a young women by highly regarded nineteenth century artist Benjamin Richard Green 1808-1876. The work shows a beautiful girl thoughtfully looking off into the distance while playing with her scarf in her hand. The work is watercolour heightened with body colour and there is a signature, date and inscription which are slightly obscured by the slip, but the date can be seen and is 1843. The work is in the original gilt frame and slip and retains the 'Agnews' retail label on the reverse. The whole is in good condition with two blemishes to the top of the circular apperture on the paper the only real defects.
