This splendid 1950s Melissa brand powder compact is embellished with highly elaborate guilloche engravings which gleam as they catch the light. The lid is fitted with the original foil backed Lucite lid decoration. Set within a clear Lucite dome are delightful pink and blue Lucite flowers and yellow leaves.

The colour of the gilded brass and Lucite flowers is as vibrant as it was back in the day.

The mirror gives a good and accurate reflection. The original sifter is present as is an immaculate pouch. All clasps & hinges work perfectly.

Measures 3 1/4 inches diameter. Weighs 110.9 grams.

This compact is suitable for use as a handbag mirror, loose foundation compact or a cherished display collectible.
