A rare Viking piece of hack silver from north Europe collection and dating circa 9th century AD.
The Vikings used these small and larger pieces for trade and melting down for coinage and antique jewellery.
The original collector of this piece drilled out a small hole and used it as a pendant on a piece of leather.
