Victorian Taxidermy Caribou Head Mount


This is a very good example of an antique taxidermy of a North American Woodland Caribou, (Rangifer tarandus caribou) dating from the early 20th century, circa 1900. The Head mount is of a young adult bull looking straight ahead. It is in excellent clean condition with a fine set of antlers with 34 points. The Head mount is 53 cms across the antlers and measures 71 cms from the wall. It is 91 cms high and is mounted upon a solid oak shield.
