Fantastic Scottish longcase clock from the fabulous Victorian era signed McAlpine Auchterarder. The face has wonderful hand painted four seasons corners and two fine Scottish gent resting beside a river in the arch. Its 11.5" dial has roman numerals around the edge and two additional dials in the centre for seconds and date. The hood with its swan neck pediment houses an eight day movement which has been fully serviced and is in full working order. The case with its amazing flame mahogany veneers and bowfront door houses to 2 weights and a hand painted pendulum. Like all antiques there are the odd age-related marks but that does not diminish the outstanding quality of this statement item.
