Victorian Oak Gothic Revival Aesthetic Armchair
An attractive antique gothic revival armchair. We date this chair to the mid 19th century.
The chair sits on lovely well turned oak legs at the front and splayed legs at the rear all with original ceramic castors.
The chair has a lovely shaped top with carvings below the padded backrest. There are attractive inlaid designs around the backrest and below the seat pad.
The chair has a deep padded seat, padded backrest and armrests. The chair is upholstered in a beige floral material with a studded detail.
The chair has an overall height of 40.5" (103cm), an overall width of 28.5" (72cm), an overall depth of 30" (76cm), a backrest height of 25.5" (65cm), a seat height of 15" (38cm), a seat width of 23" (58cm) and a seat depth of 25.5" (65cm).
The chair is in very good condition with only very minor surface marks commensurate with age and usage, including a little bit of wear to some edges and some stains to the material (please note that we have not attempted to have the material cleaned).
This remains a very stylish and elegant antique armchair. It is very comfortable and supportive to sit on and will continue to provide rest and relaxation for many years to come.
