Victorian Miniature Damp Detector
A miniature pocket size Damp Detector or hygrometer contained within a blue velvet lined, chagrin case. Construction:Japaned brass body with scale calibrated 0-100 either side of centre scale. Adjust on rear of body. Nomenclature: Very Dry, Dry Normal Moist Very Moist. In working order Please bear in mind when viewing that the overall diameter of the Damp Detector is only 35mm.
One school of thought suggest these were sold to travellers in Victorian times to check if the hotel bedding was indeed dry or damp.

Deposits may be accepted on some goods by prior arangement for a period of no more than one week. Deposits are none returnable and payment in full must be made within one month unless by prior arrangement.
