Very Large French Cast Iron Pestle and Mortar

The Most wonderful piece of French Artisan equipment and a really rare piece

The Mortar has carrying handles on each side and it takes at least 2 strong people to lift it, I am not sure of the exact use of this piece but most likely industrial for crushing possibly pigments or other compounds, the Mortar comes with its original cast iron pestle

Now after years of use, this is the opportunity to give this marvellous piece a new life, the mortar is strong and sound and ready to go back to work
The mortar is 14” high, and is 16” in diameter, the pestle is 24” long
