Claude Hamilton Rowbotham (1864-1949) Cornwall based printmaker who invented a method of single plate aquatint etching at his studio in Falmouth keeping it a closely guarded secret.
Had over 500 plates destroyed on his death to keep it so! He covered many British topographic scenes.
