A charming Swiss carved wooden bear letter scales dating to the early 20th Century. The bear is in lovely condition and retains the original black bead eyes. To the base is carved 'Château-d'Œx'. The brass scales measure in ounces and has 'DEP' stamped to one of the arms – so of German manufacture. The scales stand 22.0 cm in height (from the wooden base to the scale platform). The bear stands 12.5cm tall. The diameter of the wooden base is 8.1cm and the diameter of the brass scale platform is 6.6cm.
