A stunning Max Le Verrier signed Art Deco figure 'The Fisherman' on carved terrazzo base.

Max le Verrier was born in Neuilly-sur-Seine, in 1891. From an early age he showed great promise as an artist and sculptor. He opened his studio in 1919 and in 1926 established his own foundry. From the outset, he gained a reputation for the very high quality work, exceptional detailing and accuracy of the items that his firm produced.

This fine signed example dates to c.1925, and represents a fisherman with superbly detailed muscleature, hauling his net. The figure sits on a heavy carved stone base.

Length ~ 695mm (max), height ~ 300mm.

Weight ~ 15-20kg, collection or local delivery preferred.
