Charming little late 19th.c. landscape in oil on canvas by the Liverpool artist Henry Armstrong Whittle (1834 – 1904). Inscribed on the reverse ‘In the vale of Gwynant near Beddgelert N.Wales’ it shows two young figures fishing in the waters of Llyn Gwynant with the distinctive peak of Yr Aran in the background. Clearly signed in the lower left hand corner. Excellent condition, presented unframed on the original stretcher.
