Delightful little early 19th.c. Welsh stick back armchair c.1800. Quiet unusual being in oak throughout. With a shaped backrest and arms raised on simple turned spindles over a single piece seat (just 12″ deep). Turned legs joined with an H stretcher and splayed at the rear for stability. Great character with obvious wear to the backrest and some rather agricultural repairs. Some of the spindles would appear to be replacements (note the difference in style of the left and right hand arm supports). Otherwise good condition solid and sturdy and excellent colour, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
