Small Mahogany Regulator Longcase Clock
This is a very nice English precision floor standing regulator of small size being only 6 feet tall.
The 12 inch silvered dial of regulator layout bears the name of Robert Graham , London who is unrecorded so I presume that he was either the retailer or this antique clock was used as the shop regulator in a jewellers. This clock would date circa 1820
The case itself is very well made having an oak carcase and veneered in well selected mahogany which has retained an excellent original finish and patina which re- finished antique clocks cannot achieve. It has Ebony stringing and a lovely pierced escutcheon. The door is glazed to show the small brass cased weight and swinging pendulum. As the clock runs the weight drops through a hole into the base
The 8 day duration precision movement is massively constructed and (over) engineered as only the finest English clocks can be.It has finely spoked wheels with high count pinions , dead beat escapement with maintaining power and jewelled pallets. Please note the screwed dial feet
I would urge prospective buyers to view this clock as my photographs do not do it justice
It is very small clock at only 6ft tall ,17 inches at its widest point and 10 inches deep. The trunk is only 12 1/4 inches wide.
The clock functions perfectly and the movement has been restored by a member of the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers prior to sale.
This is a genuine and original antique clock and I offer a money back guarantee to this end
The overall condition is excellent and ready to go straight into the home but , like all original antiques , there are the odd age related marks. The bezel lock can be a little fiddly but soon mastered.,
I would urge prospective buyers to visit and view the clock as it is much nicer than the images depict.
At the full asking price I will deliver, install and set up the clock and provide a full 12 months guarantee
If a lesser offer is accepted it will considered a trade sale with the clock sold as described with collection/delivery the responsibility of the buyer.
I will ship this clock worldwide but I will only use a specialist shipper who will make a purpose made wooden crate.
The contents of the pendulum will require shipping separately and UK are suggested to collect if possible although I can arrange a specialist to deliver the clock
Guesstimate rates are as follows
Europe £500 (can possibly meet on the continent)
USA £700
Asia and Australia £900
