Sir William Russell Flint Signed Ltd Ed Interlude
We are offering this charming Signed, Limited Edition Colour Lithographic Print by the artist Sir William Russell Flint, which was published by Frost & Reed in 1967, according to the inscription above it, as shown. It is signed in pencil by the artist to the right and bears the Fine Art Trade Guild blindstamp to the left and the stamped letters BLB which means that it is Number 192 of a Limited Edition of 850. In the lower left hand corner of the print is printed F & R and 1967, but we have been unable to photograph it, although it is visible to the naked eye.
This print is entitled The Interlude and depicts Cecilia Green, allegedly the artist's favourite model, slightly deshabille, in two poses on a couch or bed covered with throws and with several sketches, possibly of her. Sir William Russell Flint (1880--1969) was an extremely popular artist, whose complete biography is readily available on line, but whose most popular works were watercolours of beautiful women in scanty clothing, often in continental settings.
The print is glazed, mounted with washlines and framed in what is probably its original cream and grey painted frame. It will be supplied wired and ready to hang.
Image size: 21 1/2" x 11 3/4" - 54.6cm x 29.85
Frame size: 34 1/8" x 24 1/8" - 86.6cm x 61.25cm
Condition: The print, glass, and mount are in excellent condition and the frame is in good condition with some minor wear consistent with age.
