Sir German Sims Woodhead MD 1895 Diphtheria Report
This is a very rare surviving account of a study for The Metropolitan Asylums Board. Report of Dr German Sims Woodhead upon the Bacteriological Examination of cases of Diphtheria during the eight months ended on the 31st August 1895. Not only is the Original report present, which I couldn't find in any surviving archive of Sir German Sins Woodhead, but the privately printed results study book which was printed in Vol XXVIII of The Clinical Society's Transactions is included, with a note on the front signed A C. Which I think is A H Card who participated in the study with Sir German Sims Woodhead and J W Washbourn. The details are amazing and the study no doubt lead to medical discoveries and treatments for this disease. A wonderful piece of medical history.
