Printed Silk to Commemorate the Launch of 'H.M.S. Africa' at H.M.Dockyard Chatham on the 20th May 1905 by Lady Londonderry. Printed Letterpress by Parrett & Neves, Chatham, Rochester & Gillingham, Kent.
H.M.S Africa was classified as a 'King Edward VII' class Battleship. She was the last Battleship to be constructed at M.H. Chatham Dockyards.
The first British Launch of an Airplane took place aboard H.M.S Africa in 1912. She was decommissioned in November 1918.
(The silk is clean and the pink areas are due to the scanning process)
